Pros and Cons of Affiliate Marketing in My Opinion…

Let’s start at the bottom: What Exactly Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing has grown in popularity as a result of the Internet. Affiliate marketing is a form of advertisement in which a business pays third-party publishers to send traffic or leads to its goods and services. Affiliates are third-party publishers who are paid a commission to find new ways to market the brand. The advertising company sets the terms of an affiliate marketing program.

I’m a blogger, and I’m proud of it!  So, every blogger’s first move is …*drumroll*

Amazon Affiliate Program!

Yep, Amazon developed the concept by establishing an affiliate marketing scheme in which websites and bloggers place links connected with associate ID to the Amazon page for a reviewed or discussed product in exchange for advertising fees only if the product is purchased.

There is no commission for clicks, as you can see. Really depressing.

[ Side Note- Companies used to pay for banner advertising based on the cost per click (traffic) or cost per mille (impressions) when they first started with Affiliate Marketing.

HOWEVER, THERE IS A PROBLEM. Since clicks and impressions could both be produced by software, early affiliate marketing systems were susceptible to fraud. So, companies changed their terms and the focus shifted to commissions on real sales or eligible leads.]

However, if people purchase goods through your link, you will receive a percentage fee.

It also has excellent strict policies that would immediately ban you, so read all of the rules and regulations carefully before making any mistakes. They’re smart, after all.

There are other excellent partner services that can expose you to a wide range of products. So, make the most of the internet and look for more similar programs to choose from. However, make sure your website does not have an excessive amount of advertisement or you might be blocked from using such programs.

[My Suggestion: Try Impact – Both brands and publishers can create an account here.]

Niche-

Before you enter any affiliate programs, make sure you know what niche you want to work in. Why You Ask?

Because if your blog is about Education and Knowledge, you don’t want to sell kitchen utensils on your website, do you?

In the long run, the website should have a positive reputation. As a result, only promote items that are relevant to your niche.

*This is my website. I mainly write about Spirituality and Psychology, and people who like to read my blog would like to see similar products advertised, which is why I chose Books based on my niche.

Traffic-

In my experience, Affiliate programs will reject you if you don’t have enough people visiting your website. So, in order to run affiliate programs, you’ll need a fair amount of traffic. To drive traffic to your website, you can use resources like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc. You can start lead generation campaigns or try making YouTube videos. More traffic will help you boost your website’s ranking and earn more affiliate marketing commissions.
